This luxurious safari escape is set in the heart of Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary and overlooks a waterhole and the Taita plains. The entire lodge is raised up on stilts which gives an amazing view of the animals and sorrounding area. There is also a tunnel that leads to an observation 'bubble' to get an even better angle view of the animals when they are drinking from the waterhole.

My family and  I went on a safari and stayed at the Salt Lick Game Lodge. On the day we arrived, we saw elephants from a far distance as we approached the hotel for the first time. This was such an amazing and beautiful experience that got all of us excited that we couldn't wait to go on the game drives. 

The rooms are quite spacious and beautifully appointed decorated with ethnic decor. They were very clean, comfortable and offered a panoramic view of the plains. The restaurant also offered a super view of the waterhole and surrounding area and the standard of the fine dining buffet matched the quality of the excellent service and helpful staff members. 

My best and most memorable moment of my stay at the lodge is on the last day while having breakfast. Hundreds of wildebeests came to waterhole. This was such a beautiful moment and I am glad to have experienced it. 

The staff members were extremely friendly and welcoming. We all enjoyed our stay and we could have happily spent a bit longer here.
